Hello and Introduction

Denver is not the first choice for individualists, capitalists, Republicans, or Libertarians. Denver is a collectivist curiosity, a town where the enforcers of dirt on the sidewalk laws outnumber drugs sold in nightclubs laws by 6 to 1 (there are 6 of the former and 1 of the latter). I’ve lost track of the tax increases pushed by the Mayor since he took office (I’m thinking 16).

Still, Denver is a great place. The weather, the mountains, a little history. Despite its far left government, Denver is an amazingly easy place to live compared to the truly oppressed major cities of this country.

With relatively little to complain about, why does the world need another blog? People who believe that our prosperity is created by entrepreneurs and capitalism have an obligation to resist the armies of the extreme far left that organize in LoDo and wage an effective war against freedom and prosperity. Denver and Colorado are turning so far away from their individualist roots that everyone should do his part to reverse the tide of collectivism.

Now, I don’t have a cool goatee, high couture rag clothing, shaggy hair, or the glow of youth to stand on the 16th St. Mall with a clipboard and a basket of half truths. Also, I don’t much like standing around hassling strangers. If I ever did, I’d be a panhandler, which is a more honest way to part people from their money. Instead, I will write a more or less weekly blog about what I see in the world. I suspect that my subscriptions will be quite low, so add quixotic to the personal nature of this blog.

Enjoy.
